Rio - The movie

Blu is a domesticated parrot who never learned to fly and has a quiet and comfortable living next to Linda, his owner and best friend in the small town of Moose Lake, Minnesota.

Blu
and Linda think he is the last of his kind, but when they learn that there is another macaw who lives in Rio de Janeiro, they set off for the exotic and distant land expecting to find Jade, a female of the species of Blu.

Soon
after his arrival, Blu and Jade are kidnapped by a group of bumbling contrabanditas animals. With help from Jade and an experienced group of birds chattering and debauched city, Blu escape. Now with his new friends at his side. Blu must find the courage to learn to fly, they continue to deceive the abducted on his heels and back to Linda, the best friend I ever had a bird.


Curiosities


- Third full-length animated film directed by Carlos Saldanha, were the previous Ice Age 2 (2006) and Ice Age 3 (2009). Served as co-director of Ice Age (2002) and Robots (2005);

- It is the second film produced by Blue Sky Studios to be released in 3D format. The former was Ice Age 3 (2009);

- During the initial stages of production several members of the technical team visited the Bronx Zoo, where they observed how birds move and how they use their feathers;

- Developed a new renderer called Ruffle feathers Deformer, which allowed the animators to create and shape the feathers with a detailing never achieved so far;

- Every penalty Blu was painted blue, and later add details, lights and surface textures, such as scratches, marks and depressions in its beak;

- The character voiced by Anne Hathaway in the original version is called Jewel, while in Brazil named Jade;

- Rodrigo Santoro's character dubs Tulio versions in English and Portuguese in the film;

- The world premiere took place on March 22, 2011, in the city of Rio de Janeiro. Came to town voice actors Anne Hathaway, Jesse Eisenberg, Jamie Foxx, Jemaine Clement and Will.i.am.
